Granite is still the workhorse of UAE kitchens. It shrugs off heat from a hot pot, resists scratches and handles daily cooking for big families without fuss. The hard part is choosing a colour from hundreds of options. These are the granite colours UAE homeowners pick most often from our warehouse, with honest notes on how each one lives day to day.
Black granites: Black Galaxy, Absolute Black, Cosmic Black
Black Galaxy
The most requested granite in the UAE for two decades, and still going strong. Black Galaxy granite is a deep black Indian stone scattered with bronze-gold flecks that catch the light. The flecks hide crumbs and water spots remarkably well, and it pairs equally with white gloss, wood-grain and dark cabinetry.
Absolute Black
Absolute Black granite is a dense, even black with almost no pattern. It is the choice for minimalist, handleless kitchens and for waterfall islands where you want a monolithic look. Polished, it shows fingerprints and water marks; honed or leathered, it is far more forgiving and looks more contemporary.
Cosmic Black
A black base with flowing silver-white veins, Cosmic Black gives a marble-like movement with granite toughness. It suits clients who like the drama of Nero Marquina marble but cook every day.
Grey, brown and blue granites
Steel Grey
A mid-grey with a fine, even speckle. Steel Grey is the most practical granite we sell: it hides almost everything and sits comfortably with grey, white and timber kitchens. It is also one of the most affordable imported granites.
Tan Brown
A dark brown base with black and copper speckles. Tan Brown suits warm, traditional kitchens with cream or wood cabinets, and is very common in larger UAE villa kitchens and outdoor barbecue areas.
Blue Pearl
A Norwegian granite with grey-blue crystals that shimmer as you move around the room. Blue Pearl is a statement stone that pairs well with white or navy cabinets and stainless steel.
White granites: Alaska, Colonial and River White
For buyers who want a bright kitchen without the maintenance of white marble, light granites are the answer.
- Alaska White — white and grey with black and burgundy specks and soft movement. Bold and natural.
- Colonial White — a calmer white-grey with small dark specks and light veining. The most versatile white granite.
- River White — soft white with flowing grey waves and small garnet specks. A gentle, marble-like look.
Light granites are generally more porous than black ones, so they must be sealed at installation and resealed every one to two years in the UAE. Our sealing guide covers the routine.

Polished, honed or leathered?
The finish changes how a colour reads as much as the stone itself. Polished granite deepens colour and shows off crystals, but it also shows fingerprints, especially on black. Honed granite is matte and softer-looking. Leathered granite has a slightly textured, satin surface that hides marks and feels good to touch — it is one of the strongest countertop trends for 2027, especially on Absolute Black.
How to choose your granite colour
- Start with the cabinets and floor, then pick a granite that either contrasts or blends — not one that competes.
- Look at full slabs, not samples. A 10 cm sample hides the movement and colour shifts across a 3-metre slab.
- Check it under your lighting. Warm LED makes Tan Brown richer; cool light makes white granites look grey.
- Be realistic about mess. Busy family kitchens are happier with speckled stones like Black Galaxy or Steel Grey.
- Reserve your slabs. Granite varies between blocks, so tag the exact slabs for your kitchen.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most popular granite colour in the UAE?
Black granites — especially Black Galaxy and Absolute Black — remain the most requested for UAE kitchens, followed by light granites such as Alaska White and Colonial White for brighter, contemporary kitchens.
Which granite colour is easiest to maintain?
Mid-tone speckled granites such as Steel Grey, Tan Brown and Black Galaxy hide crumbs, water spots and fingerprints best. Solid Absolute Black and very light whites show marks more readily and benefit from a honed or leathered finish.
Does white granite stain?
Some light granites are more porous than dark ones, so they should be sealed at installation and resealed every one to two years in the UAE. Sealed properly, they resist everyday spills such as oil, turmeric and coffee if wiped promptly.
Is Black Galaxy granite real or dyed?
Genuine Black Galaxy is a natural Indian granite with bronze-gold flecks. Rubbing an inconspicuous edge with acetone on a cloth is a simple check: dyed or resin-coloured stone leaves black colour on the cloth.
